Does the Odyssey battery really weigh 15.5 lbs (7.0 kg)? _________________ 2002 Cannondale E440

They are HEAVY , although from memory they do 2 variants of each model . One variant is steel reinforced for crash performance so even HEAVIER |

Alright fellas, winter has finally come to an end. Spent a few hours steam cleaning and getting the bike ready for a test run. Turns over and sounds healthy. Just need some fresh plugs and oil and we’ll be good to hear it fire! Running dummy 1098 stock pipes for now, just to have something in place.

How do the 1098 pipes fit? _________________ Bimota (Tesi 1D 904SR, DB2, DB4, SB6,SB6R, SB8R, SB8K Santa Monica) Ducati (1000SS, Monster S4, 999R) Aprilia (RSV Mille R Haga) Honda (CL125s and 70s Chopper) |

The stock 1098 pipes are the same diameter but are not angled perfectly so with some slight pipe bending, I think they would work well. I have yet to fit them with the tail section, so I’ll report back when I get to it. The cans are a good fit, the contoured pipe leading to the can is a bit off.
I am a fan of the TwoBrothers carbon pipes on Japanese twins - the V.A.L.E. System has the exhaust cans detached from the entry pipe and allows for a significant amount of adjustment. That is my current plan moving forward. |

Idles and runs great so far.
Fuel tank is leaky at the separation seam. Will need to fix before test ride, so it’ll be a bit I’m sure.
Next steps:
Fuel tank repair
Exhaust fabrication
Seat fabrication. Thinking of 3D printing a base for now. Let me know if anyone has a better idea
Can’t sleep. This thing kicks ass |

I got some carbon end cans made at a local exhaust place for mine.

It’s been way too long since posting any progress. Finally got around to working on this again.
Caswell coated the tank near the heat damaged area - turned out great
Worked on the exhaust situation. Tried to salvage what I could from the old system. Turns out the inlet and outlet caps are solid! Also all the brackets are restorable.
Also… they fit 1098 cans pretty well!
Will rivet them together and post the outcome. Just a tad shorter.
Also sourced a proper fuel connector from a shop in France. One had melted
Am happy to say that this machine is 98% restored. Exhaust fitting and some minor wiring for the tail lights and we’ll be in business. New chain and rubber too. Smells really good
