Hi All

new owner of a BB1, need a little help.

got it delivered this week and now stripped for a good clean and to sort the problems I have found

Sorted new rubbers for exhaust mount, will see how they fair over garden hose

ordered new pads hopefully they will be a better fit than the ones fitted
https://www.flickr.com/photos/192769757@N05/shares/d99HK0

and need to find fixes for the shock reservoir and headlight adjuster

if anyone has a picture of the headlight adjuster that would be great....

will keep adding as I go along

Welcome, and congrats on your new bike!

Where did you get the exhaust rubbers? I have been looking for them for a while...

Regarding brakes, do you have one or two disks? The single disk setup "leaves something to be desired", as they say. I did a lot of testing on mine to get decent braking performance. Ended up with ISR 6-pot and cast iron Brembo disk, but along the way I gained some expperience using different pads. I still run a single disk to save unsprung wheight.

Regarding the headlight adjuster I'm sorry not to be able to help. I replaced the plastic headlight unit years ago.

We are a few in this forum with bb1 experience. Some info is already in this forum, but just ask if you need more info about the bb1.

found some shock mounting rubbers on eBay, the outer metal part is still in the subframe and i still have the inner metal part as well, sizes are ID9mmx OD 23mm tapered to 20mm in the middle, by 16mm long, will let you know how it goes. as i think it maybe tight...

I have another plan as have a few contact via work if it doesn't work

still on single disk, what pads have you found best?, I was going down the route of a new master cylinder before changing the caliper, wasn't thinking of two disk either yet, if I can get a good brake on one I don't see the point

sorted a fix for now on the headligt until I sort a proper adjuster out, I will find something!!!!!!

The best pads I found at the time I did this (almost 15 years ago) was the EBC HH pads, according to my notes from that time. But that was with a cast iron disk, so possibly not directly applicable for the OEM disk. Depending on your use, I would look among the "upper class" EBC pads. They have something they call trackday pads.
And yes, the OEM master cylinder is dimensioned for a twin-disk setup. So replacing it with a smaller one from e.g. a Monster or other bike with single Brembo 4-piston setup could be beneficial for the brake feel. I have a fully adjustable ISR radial master. The best one I have used.

However, you can still do nice stoppies with the OEM setup. So the brakes are not bad, however not in class with a twin-disk setup without modifications.
