Good morning ........

I have managed to secure a little piece of Bimota Race history with this latest project.

Having lost or not bonded with the simply stunning Moto Corse Tesi 3Dc it did a deal with 2Bims and he bought the Tesi for what I paid and the associated import costs and taxes.

A 2018 Tesi 3D whether Moto Corse or not was not what I really wanted.

I chanced upon a German championship winning bike from the 1991 season and all seemed good right up to the export....then it fell out of bed.

BCP had access to various TESI machines and quite a few TESI 1D...a very good source and almost the actual supplier of my chosen bike until this came along.

An email with documents stating.

>>>>>>Yes, this is the Migliorati bike used in Italian championship 1993
maybe used also in SBK world championship>

<in 1992-1993 the Bimota factory team used more than one TESI ( 2 or 3)
this is> frame 0194
This was the only one left in the factory pulled out of bankruptcy in 2002
There were also all 5 PROTOTYPE -> >>>> this Tesi Migliorati
There were also 2 Tesi engines but I had the road one, the Bimota engineer (>><<) wanted the other racing one>
See paperwork <<<<<<<<<<<,

There was more to the email than just this....and the source had built trust over the previous 4-5 years.

For sure.... it is always difficult to pin point an actual bike as most riders have more than one or two and the teams switch bodies and parts on a frequent basis.

Even the Bimota TESI 1D Daytona SuperBike in the Barber Museum is not what it is depicted as.

But what was offered matched, what was stated and the relevant supporting documents tied up with the declared frame numbers and other specific parts.

The tell tale Ducati Bimota early 1990s race dash for the 888 engined specials stretched to 904 and 964..unsure what engine this is...but will soon find out.

Anyway...it is here and next year I will start a full rebuild.....just got to locate another TESI body......and a rear hugger.

thanks

Gavin

Very well done Gavin, lovely machine. Why do you need another body? presumably existing one is race weight and maybe 'race-worn', or do you want to preserve it for it's history?

Now that is a project bike worthy of restoration. Nice score Gavin. Good luck with the resto and hope you find some nice special parts under that bodywork.

Other stuff I had ordered ....took a bit longer...but of them are here.

Packages with the FULL ENGINEERING DRAWINGS has ARRIVED!

Hello...........the Rear Hugger issue was solved via Glen of Canvey, there's me searching the tintinnet and someone less than 2 miles away has the answer!

A fellow BIMOTA forum bloke who had some YB rear huggers ....these all seem to fit but I will select the best fitting and report back on the YB model...it may help others out there.

The best fit was the YB8...although the other YB6 looked good as well.

The parts crate is still in Italy (holding all the other stuff)......transport into the UK has been, all but, terminated by the Clowns in the Brexit Circus.

By March or so...movement may return.

Anyway....no point complaining..the deed is done and Europe is now more expensive to buy from than Japan.

On that note... WelshLamb...you have a PM.

regards

Gavin

Hello............to those of you.... who admire a strange front end.

I have been doing some research on the web regarding the Daytona raced TESI and the Number 25 ....the one I bought.

More on the Daytona bike in another post ....but I managed to access some really old data regarding a factory test prior to getting a Bimota factory ride.

The rider in question was at the time unsigned and looking for a factory ride in the SBK series.......it at least shows you just how serious BIMOTA were in testing new PILOTS and assessing their suitability.

I have been informed that this PILOT did actually want to ride but BIMOTA but signed instead for another Italian marque.
