at the rear of the DB2 tank are two rubber 'spools'
p/n 214000036 GOMMINO 'Tank base rubber'

These dont actually 'support' the tank but act as stops against the frame cross member to stop the tank moving backwards.

Unfortunately over time they can age and split.

Not available from BCP or usual Bim specialists. I did try contacting Acerbis in italy but no response. However I do know that Acerbis have made plastic tanks for KTM for ages. Sure enough armed with the dimensions (26mm diameter, 12mm thick and takes an M6 capscrew) and after a lot of Google searches I managed to track down the identical part (*) from KTM

KTM P/N is 50307014000. 'Tank roller'

* Note that it is identical apart from the lack of the "Acerbis Plastics Italia" branding. This is probably due to moulds/dies wearing out and KTM wanting price reductions from Acerbis? In any case for me a small point. If you wanted absolute authenticity there are still some old stock parts with the branding out there (I tracked some down) but they are likely to be in Europe. Given postage costs and current lottery of import duties/VAT into UK I just bought the current KTM parts from a UK dealer.

Note that if changing out parts on yr Bimota you need to retain the small spacer sleeve on the bottom side of the spool as that doesnt come with the KTM part.

Another small part need for the rebuild crossed off my list!

(PS apologies for the 'supersized' images. should have checked after adding the first one. At least they are clear!)
