Had been concerned about the way the fairing vibrated on my YB6EI since I got it about 18 months ago. I live down a pot holed limestone road so it gets a bit of a work out. Recently removed the fairing to replace the fuel pump and found fairing bracket cracked near the bracing. Took it to a nearby fabricator to get it welded and strengthened. Unfortunately he didn’t have any pins of the right size to fit in the tubes. He suggested some 2mm plate welded to the bottom to stiffen it. Thought this maybe of interest to others and would appreciate feedback from the forum. Maybe applicable to other YB series. May need to drill some holes for wiring.

Could well be "just the road"...although you dont say what speed you ride down it...teehee...I've never seen any of the black painted CrMo front headlight brackets/stays crack on any Bimota..... |

I can only dream of being able to claim to motocross a Bimota down our track
The best I can do is about 40 kph with my right hand on the throttle and my left hand trying to stop the fairing bouncing around across the pot holes.
Not long after I got the YB6EI I mentioned my concerns about the fairing vibration on Australian Bimota owners Facebook page. One member commented that his bracket had broken on a bumpy ride and needed bracing so I'm not the only one. Maybe its an Australian thing.
The position of the steering damper limits bracing so I'm hoping the stiffening plate works. _________________ Steve
