Hi there

I find myself in a bit of a quandary. I have been looking for sometime to get another bike and have been looking at Ducati’s until I came across a lovely DB7 Oronero!

My knowledge of Bimoto is quite limited really although I must say I am intrigued somewhat by the brand and at least this particular model I found. It is something a little different and what impressed me the most was the attention to detail.... the side stand alone was a work of art!!! Forget the rest of what I saw but everywhere was delicious... I’m on the hook...

The one I found is asking $30000... 13000kms

What are the peril pitfalls with brand / model. I’m assuming parts are hard to come by. They seem expensive and I wonder if I’ll ever be able to sell it on (if in fact I ever do). Whats the allure guys for you?

Your knowledge in advance and any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Parts should not really be that expensive.
Bimota Classic Parts is amazing to deal with.

The only thing I fear with any of my bikes is bodywork damage. That can be expensive and time consuming to address.

Selling the bike on will be hit or miss.
These are ultra rare machines. But even with low supply, demand isnt that high. Seems buyers are just as rare as the bikes themselves. This is a shame as the bikes offer an amazing ownership experience for not a lot of money (over other examples in the class)

Here in the states I see Ducati 1098Rs listed for $20k.
Last DB7 I saw was only a couple of grand more.
Seemed like a deal to me.

They are great bikes and that does look very cheap at that price, although the one on bike sales Asutralia that's brand new with all the extra bits would be a better buy in my opinion (trying to convince myself i don't need two)

They are very capable bike, easy for longer distances and make you feel million dollars when riding, they also encourage you to act like a hooligan

From what I’m seeing online , and there’s not much, that price does seem low. What’s the catch I guess! The bike in question seems very clean on cursory inspection. I need to ask more questions of the seller.

For my part I like it’s looks and attention to detail. It’s also very unique. When we turned the bike on its dash was searching for GPS signal. What is this used for exactly (I can’t imagine there is any navigation function). I take there is no traction control or even abs.

Hi again, another question. I was looking everywhere on the frame for its stamp so I could see what production number it was but couldn’t find anywhere. Where have they hidden that plate?

Hopefully you've finished writing out your 100 lines by now.....the main offence in getting it incorrect is that its an anacronym of the first 2 letters of the founders....Bianchi....BI.......Morri....MO....and Tamburini ...TA....of Ducati and Cagiva and MV Agusta fame

GPS....presumably its an AIM LCD dash in grey/black.....in the rear seat hump theres a GPS sender tracker unit......linked to the dash.....loaded into the dash is all of North America and Europe Race circuits for you to take the bike to and track your progress around it.........

Bike may have a slipper mechanical clutch....thats all the gizmos you get....Zero ABS...ZERO wheelie or traction control and manual suspension changes only....Old Skool...where its up to the rider to define his ability and the road conditions and NOT some wizard box of tricks....

No Metal frame plate....as it would have to be drilled into the carbon fibre frame and weaken it.....there should be a frame sticker on the LHS Frame plate where the left side footpeg and gear change is....

The vin number will be etched into the frame on the metal section. Feel free to send me a PM if want to know a bit more including if its a certain frame as one did get written off in Australia.

I've done around 40,000km on standard and Oro versions of the DB7 so know them quite well.
