Never being one to leave well enough alone I want to ditch the pod air filters and return my SB6 back to a standard airbox set up.

But, someone has moved the battery to the airbox position and there is only one instead of the standard 2. I fear what someone has done to the wiring to get to this position. Here we go again.......

Easy question to start, what is the spec of the OEM batteries for the SB6? Brand and type would be great.

Ta

Depends on the SB6.

The early ones had 2 x 6v batteries in series , the later ones had 2 x 12v in parallel. Only real difference was the the link wires between the batteries , and as you don't have them I guess you can go with either set up.
So whats the SB6 ? MK1 or 2 ?

Separate, all in one that sounds like solving a problem that didn't exist.... Shocked

2nd engine mount hole in main frame spars, clocks, master cylinders, headlights, very slight differences in bodywork, wheels, brake rotors, switchgear, batteries

You'd have to be thick to put the hard to find 6Vs in it.
Pretty sure Centrepoint have an airbox on the parts SB6 they have.
At a guess, they'd have extended the earth cables, moved the starter relay from behind the headlight to the side of the battery box and extended the power feed from behind the original state relay position.

Also, last time I looked at the parts bike it was complete enough for you to be able to look at the wiring as it originally was. They may have pulled it apart since though.
And why is this in the bikes for sale forum?
