Bought a new airfilter by MWR. Any procedures to take the gas tank and install the Airfilter?

Have you not got the DB6 Workshop Manual and DB6 Spare Parts Exploded diagram manuals? They tell you all you need....I can email them over if you like....>For tank removal the Workshop manual gets a few things wrong...that they forgot about....Under the riders seat theres a captive 6mm allen bolt.....at the back...undo that all the way then pull up the seat from the back...the front has a rocker assembly rod that loops into a frame bracket....job one done.....Then...remove the 3 no allen headed bolts on a large bracket that screw into the back of the tank...as you now have access after removing the riders seat.....The tank wont llift out though yet...as theres 2 No. breather drain nipples and hoses on the bottom of the tank that will hit the large bracket stopping it lifting clear....pull the hoses and unscrew the 2 drain nipples from the back of the tank...they are only filler cap drains anyhow and WILL be blocked with gunk anyhow....clean and reinstall later...Dont try to undo the large heavy SS bracket as its got hidden bolts fixing it down and its not needed to be removed.....the 2 "bolts" at the front of the tank aren't bolts...dont touch them as they will be seized in place and will just round off...They dont screw into anything as the back of the screws have been milled down to a pointy rod pin that merely locates in holes at the front of the tank...Youre now ready to lift up the back of the tank and pull backwards to clear the pins at the front...Under the tank...theres 2 number dry break connectors made of plastic....I think you have to push and then pull to remove...or pull then push....try both....Voila...tank off...then theres 4 no counter sunk recessed 4mm allen headed bolts holding the airbox lid on...remove....Then get a vacuum cleaner and suck out all the sand in your tank...there will be a bit as the airbox intake is in a crap position and the airbox sucks like a good un.....You'll see deep down below the old rectangular air filter with 2 no. Q/R thumbturn catches with D loops....Push and turn and its out...DO NOT cut the new sheet of MWR air filter foam to the same size as they are always too small and badly fitting...start oversized and trim if needed...then repeat for reinstall....

HaHaHa….welcome to the world of Bimota ownership......its quite simple really but I think they wrote the workshop manuals BEFORE they finished making the bikes....and they always get stuff wrong.....its because of the 2 No. tubed alloy drain plugs that even when you have removed the 3 bolts at the back of the tank hidden beneath the front of the riders seat....they catch on the ss bracket and stop its removal.....Are you on Facebook?...Files are quite large and I have uploaded BOTH workshop manuals and the spare parts manual for the DB6 on the UKBimota Facebook page....theres a file section on the left hand side and its free to download, save and print out...they are the full colour proper factory pdf manuals in glorious technicolor
