We would like to invite Bimota enthusiasts to the Lincolnshire Italian Motorcycle Festival on Saturday 15th June. It will be the 16th edition of what has become one of the largest annual gatherings of Italian motorcycles in the UK. Event website: www.imf2018.co.uk

The event takes place at the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre (LAHC), East Kirkby. Their website: www.lincsaviation.co.uk

We’re now taking bookings for trade displays/stands. There’s no set charge for traders, the Aviation Centre just asks for a donation. Club displays/stands are free. If you would like to book space, please let us know before the end of February.

Admission charge is £8.00 per adult for those arriving on two-wheels. The event raises money for the Papworth Hospital Cystic Fibrosis Unit.

Following the growing success of this event, LAHC have asked us to hold it on a day that doesn’t clash with any of their other events. For 2019 we now have the entire Aviation Centre at our disposal.

Sammy Miller MBE is the Guest of Honour. Together with his race mechanic, John Ring, Sammy will display and demonstrate his Gilera 500cc 4-cyl and Moto Guzzi 500cc V8 Grand Prix machines. There will also be a selection of rare Italian racing motorcycles on display.

All makes of motorcycle are welcome to attend the event.

One of the main themes of this year’s event is the unique opportunity for individual riders and groups to obtain photos of their motorcycles with LAHC’s iconic Avro Lancaster ‘Just Jane’.

There are two lengthy periods during the event when riders can take their own pictures in an unrushed and relaxed manner. For that truly memorable picture we’ve arranged for professional photographer, Alan Markham to be on site all day. Alan will have a stand in the main hanger where you can arrange for him to take pictures of your motorcycle(s) with the Lancaster. Photos in mounts are £20.00 each. Alan’s website: www.akmphoto.co.uk

Provisional timetable:

10.00am: Event start

10.00am to 12.00: Photo opportunity for motorcycles with Avro Lancaster ‘Just Jane’

12.30pm to 1.45pm: Avro Lancaster ‘Just Jane’ engine run up followed by Sammy Miller’s Moto Guzzi 500cc V8 and Gilera 500cc 4-cylinder Grand Prix machines demonstration. Plus, others TBC.

2.00pm to 4.30pm: Photo opportunity for motorcycles with Avro Lancaster ‘Just Jane’

5.00pm: Event finish

This is the kind of thing that I like at bike shows... some video for us unfortunate ones that are on the wrong end of the planet to attend would be greatly appreciated Wink

We would like to thank everyone who attended the event yesterday.

I’ve updated our event website with a short report and pictures: https://www.imf2018.co.uk/

When I have the links for video of the event I'll post them.
