Thanks i found them.
Just ordered 2 sets at £19 a set + vat + carriage = £51
Lets hope this plan works and resurrects a very noisy set of brenbo discs.
I stripped the discs in question and could find no noticeable wear on the roters, carriers or bobbins. They are like new
The bobbins are 13.7mm and the holes are 14mm and the wave washers have set flat probably from the heat.
I think the 0.3 gap is too big and will cause premature wear on the alloy carriers.
Coupled with the wave washers not doing their job this is a recipe for worn out discs in no time at all.
I think there is still a case for having oversized bobbins made.
Any one know a good machinist with a CNC lathe? |

You will find the new bobbins to be marginally bigger than the old ones, but it should stop the rattle ,it did on mine, my old bobbins were like yours @13.7mm and didnt show any real wear just a polished load area. |

Bobbin kits arrived
Good service from Moto Bins. Ordered yesterday, arrived today.
£19 + vat + carriage = £51 for two kits.
Disc before.......
Disc after.........
And the original Brembo bobbin kit.....
With the new kit fitted, what rotational play that was there had all but disappeared.
The lateral play was still excessive and as the new washers were conical washers instead of Brembo's crinkle (wave) washer it was time to put a wave into the new washers
Worked a treat. still got lateral movement if you put slight pressure on the roter but no more rattling
The Brembo disc rattling problem is mostly due to the very thin crinkle washers getting hot and loosing their crinkle
After spending a few hours on the interweb thingy, I've discovered that 14mm crinkle washers are a non standard size and I cant find them anywhere.
Would I buy this kit for my other Brembo discs......
probably not as I'm convinced that oversize bobbins are required to reduce the massive clearances and premature wear and new crinkle washers would sort any rattles.
So, the hunt is on for 14mm (i.d.) crinkle washers for a bulk purchase and a machinist for oversize bobbins |

If anyone is requiring a new set of 320mm rotors (rotors only not carriers) I have a pair available. |

After much searching I managed to get 3 sets of 8 bobbins, washers and clips from Blackshadow UK. Inclusive of postage to New Zealand 62.97 British pound.
A major improvement as my clips and wave washers had corroded away. _________________ When they said it could not be done, I went ahead and did it anyway! |

They have gone up a lot in the last 4 years, now 28.50 plus vat and black colour.
Bastards must have whacked up the price due to Brembo people buying them instead of lowering it for the higher turnover.
Now 2 sets sent to me in NZ will cost quite a bit more.
Whats the best deal on new rotors? (YB8 320mm type if that matters)
Are all the aftermarket one mentioned cast iron or some stainless steel as obviously the cast iron doesnt like sintered pads and they weigh and incredible amount. Something like 1.5kg per disk!! _________________ YB8EI |

Thanks for the link. I've ordered a few bags. Free international postage! Excellent!
I'm going to make up some stainless steel bobbins, what in the opinion of the group is the ideal bobbin OD and circlip groove spacing from the outside flange? Cheers

Do you still have these? I have a new set of snowflake carriers, no discs. |
