Just a quickie guys...so thats Vince, Spike, Bloke in Cape Town and one other on here........

Do your frame numbers have 2 No. Capital "R"s in the sequence?

They all start off ZESDB051R....then 7 or 8 to denote year of manufacture (2007/Cool..then another "R" for place of manuafacture...Rimini...then 4 zeros and a 2 digit number

Example - ZESDB051R8R000021

Have checked with one other DB5R owner and his has the extra R...and have checked on Db6 frame numbers and some Db5 frame numbers and they dont have the extra R...Just wondering if Bimota were so "together: that even though the frame is no different to a standard DB5...that they managed to individually stamp up and identify the R models on the frame....Frame number also on a sticker on left hand footpeg hanger...easier to read than the headstock..

Mine starts with ZESD511R and ends 037. There is an additional R just before the zeros. R38R

Just for comparison, my DB5 Mille is ZESD599256R0000XX

Hmmm. Checked the other two bims
YB11 starts out ZESYB
SB8 starts out ZESSB

Wonder why US DB5s didn't have the B after the D

Mine is ZESDB050R6R00007
Why is yours DB051 and my DB050 Question
It is because my DB has a 1000DS engine and yours the 1100DS engine…

Mine is ZESDB051R also.
Cant believe that Bimota actually seems to have change numbers between Europe and US and 1000 and 1100. Here was us previously thinking they just put any bits they could find on any bike being built .

It's not the first time Bimota uses different numbers for US and the rest of the world. Tesi 1D with US spec (mufflers, rider's foot pegs) also had different frame number series. They differed in the starting letters.
