Hi all. Watch out. Possibly in the wake of a few high profile ads in the "usual suspect" medias it seems that Vdues may have stumbled inadvertantly into the sights of the "classic car traders fraternity" - aka Arfur Daly types looking to make a fast buck. Whilst we have all smiled in the past about having bought the last one dont forget that if there are still any hidden away which are purchased and sold on at a quick profit by wheeler dealers that one day one of them may actually turn out to be exactly that - or worse still - the one made up of the bits we all may need in the future to keep ours going. And of course we all know what will happen then. It didnt seem to matter to the particular "Arfur Daly" that tried to buy mine - although I told him several times that it wasnt for sale and he still didnt seem to get the message - the chap in question said he had never seen or heard of a Bimota V Due before just recently. A true enthusiast then. Then said he always wanted one for himself y'know with the pound note signs clearly revolving round in his eyes ! Whilst we can all understand the temptation of easy money - If we who know were to make it too easy for these types to get their hands on them by doing the hard part for them we'll all be worse off for it in the long run. OK we all will defend our VDues even though they are far from perfect, but suggest we dont worry too much about the motorcycling press telling everybody how rubbish our bikes are and how they can be a pain the **** to find and purchase, maintain and ride with their poor carburation and road manners and that they can be difficult and sometimes impossible to register for the road. Who of us who owns and rides one and who has jumped through the hoops necessary to get it in the normally accepted manner and make it sort of useable cares about these things anyway ! They are indeed lovely to look at but it would be a shame to spend its life in a succession of horse trader's showroom windows wearing speculative price tags and never to be ridden. Suggest we dont try to burst their bubble and I think we'll all be better off for it !
