While the major players in the 2014 World Superbike continue their preparation for the round of Aragon with a ' three - days ' of testing at Jerez (click here to see the timing of the Day- 2), and ' behind the scenes ' work continues all stakeholders to allow the long-awaited debut in the category of the new Bimota Alstare team .
After a bitter divorce from Ducati at the end of 2013 and the subsequent marriage with small house in Rimini , the Belgian team led dall'inossidabile Francis Batta has encountered several problems of youth in its path, problems that ultimately prevented the team to get the ' approval in time for the first round of the World Championship , the GP of Australia last February . Bimota in fact failed to assemble 150 bikes required by this regulation within the time allowed , but this was still a possibility already reckoned by the team as the new BB3 , only presented last October at the EICMA in Milan, is a project started a few months ago .
However, the situation has continued to evolve , eventually coming to a situation of compromise : the Bimota Alstare team will be on the track over the weekend of April 13 to participate in the second round of the Superbike World Championship 2014 , Grand Prix of Aragon , but it will run without approval and , accordingly , will not participate in the allocation of points . This condition will be maintained until all the requirements will be met for approval .
Meanwhile , the two riders Ayrton Badovini and Christian Iddon have just done a private test at the Portuguese circuit of Portimao test which unfortunately are statoi heavily influenced by bad weather . The bad weather has prevented the team to carry on the work of development of BB3 second program , but from what transpired seems that the bike - equipped with the 4 - cylinder in - line BMW S1000RR - has still provided good indications in the short time spent on track. |

We're lucky to see MotoGP over here. Last year we had good coverage of MotoGP including qualifying and then the main races for all 3 categories. This year it looks like no qualifying and just the main MotoGP race and very limited highlights of the Moto2 and Moto3. I was really looking forward to watching Jack Miller in action this year too _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |
