Hi
I have just recently bought a KB1 with KZ1000 engine but have very little information with the bike , I believe it may have come from Germany . I have a frame number 543 and would be pleased if anyone can help with information. I would like to get a registration document for the UK so it can be used on the road ,if anyone can help I would be very greatful.
Many thanks

2bims and vort are versed in the riggors of registering bims in the UK. I'm sure they'll be able to help.

I will sort some pics soon but its not as I would like it at the moment, the fairing and screen got broken by the guy delivering it . I like the idea of using an endurance style fairing ,so if anyone knows if there is a man who has one or makes them I would be interested.
Still waiting for him to give me the keys so I cant run it up yet.
I'm surprised about the interest still around for these bikes but I bet spares are like Hens teeth . _________________ Current projects the new KB1 as its not as pristine as I was told before buying LOL. Midway into Fritz Egli Honda, CR Rickman Kawasaki still sat on the bench and an F1 Harris Honda which has some interesting racing history. |

Z1 clocks sorted out and PS15 master cylinder and lever arrived today to replace the radial master cylinder which is way too modern
How are you coming along with yours Mark? _________________ KB1x2, SB3 SB4 BB1 DB2 Vdue Evo YB11 RB1 Ducati MHR Suzi GS650 |

Just noticed Nige...is your top yoke mounted upside down and back to front?? Doesnt seem to match the lower in that normally they are flat on the front face with bolt holes and angled on the back...I see your bolts are on the tank side....?? |

Not really got around to the KB yet - just gathering a few parts to take back to original. But I would agree with you it does look odd. Ive got a parts manual and other stuff so will check when I get to the bike. Just finishing the YB7 off. Wiring completed now _________________ KB1x2, SB3 SB4 BB1 DB2 Vdue Evo YB11 RB1 Ducati MHR Suzi GS650 |

That does look odd. The fork centreline is normally in front of the steering head.
However, some of the earlier Bimotas had an unusual arrangement where the steering head angle and the fork angle were different.
Maybe your set-up is to allow for this? |

Hello folks,
yep, the yokes are correct like that for the KB1. The yokes have an adjustment to allow the steering angle to be varied by altering the circular inserts but I haven't worked out how yet!
Cheers, MikeJ |
