|
|
I was wanting to know if any other SB8R/SB8RS owners have had difficulty starting their bikes especially when the bike and/or the weather was cold.
What can be done to make the bike easier to start, and to improve upon the bikes extreme cold bloodedness???
I have had 3 SB8RS bikes and all 3 where very cold blooded, and required awhile to warm up, and had to be near operating temperature to even run right.
One of the 3 SB8RS bikes has recently been very difficult to get started.
Does anyone have any ideas regarding these traits, and what can be done to make the bike start easier ( especially when cold)?
thanks

| seems to be a common trait among these bikes, my sb8r has pc3 and was set up dyno and fuels great on the move, but it is tempermental when cold, i find it best to let it warm up to at least 54 degrees on temp gauge before I set off. On cold start I leave the choke off, crank her a bit till she nearly catches, switch off then start again with partial choke and she fires straight up. Its the only way i can get mine to start reliably from cold. Am sure every sb8 owner has there own unique start up ritual, so you might have to experiment to see what works best for you. |

i fitted brisk plugs, theres various types, mine are the four post type,im going to try the total loss type next, after fitting the first set, bike was simple to start,(the usual, prime up,then push the start x3,then she would start ok,but after an injury, and not using my bike since june last year, wont start again,so its a wee service plugs out and then she will start for sure. they dont like the cold at all,the big air mouths gulp in cold air, and hate getting started.below 45farenheight you will be lucky if shes stood a while, but once shes been run, leaving for a few weeks wasnt a problem, and starting with the brisk plugs was easy. _________________ wot you got ?...me..well--
