Very nice indeed, just a shame that it appears to be a decorative piece sitting in a lounge, and stock also other than a few stickers, each to their own, but for me bikes are to be ridden, shared and enjoyed by as many as can be, and thats my intention. GeeKay is already booked in for first ride also, ordely queues please |
Yeah i put my foot in my mouth when i first met him. I said that i don't own bikes that i can't or won't ride and that i thought bikes should be ridden and not just displayed. Then he took me upstairs and showed me the db1

| Nice one Bri, seems like you share my "etiquette" in opening my trap and then having to dissappear up my own jacksie shortly after, with a big Oops and apology, sure can't have helped with your negotiations on the purchase of the Db4, but hey ho, live and learn eh? |

I'm a great sufferer of 'foot in mouth' disease. He was a good fella but and we had beer while talking bimota's and then did the deal .

Actually it was a memorable trip when i went to meet my db4. Finished night shift on the thursday morning, slept til the afternoon, then got up and drove all night to get to the blokes place the next morning, had a bit of a sleep before meeting him and doing the deal, got the roadworthy sorted for the bike, loaded it up in my ute and drove home again. Enjoyable trip

Yeah it was just over 2000 klm round trip with only a few hours sleep, but it was well worth it.

Quite laid back and complacent about it really, but then there has been a few deliveries this year already, so quite blasse about it nowadays. Just have to hope there is an egine beneath the bodywork as it won't be immediately apparent when it rolls out of the back of the van
Hopefully it is all as described, and detailed, otherwise there will be a New YEars Resolution made to not "buy blind" again (5 times so far this year, this being the fifth). Although I have found with Bimota Owners so far that they are the "salt of the Earth" Where does that expression come from? and is it a Compliment? |

Hi
Suspect there might be a few hidden away.
Years ago I bought a crashed Aprilia AF1 Sintesi and the seller had a DB1 in his garage (think he has sold it now, from the last time I bumped into him).
As to wheels, think they are the same size tyres as the Paso. With the Paso there are a few fixes but not sure they would work on the DB1.

Cheers Keith for the advice, existing tyres are as new but some 7 years old, and it is intended to be a rideable bike so best to start the search now...
Delivery of bike is confirmed as this Wednesday, so hopefully the driver doesn't have too many beers on New YEars Day.... Now means a delayed days start back to work, but can't ever think of a better excuse than a DB1 turning up.
A few Bits and pieces have also turned up courtesy of Armin of DRT Schneider, never let me down yet, a jolly good fellow, and invaluable source of parts.
New Tacho and Speedo cable, new front reservoir cover, NOS Original Db1 Owners Manual and an English DB5 Owners manual also as no speako Italiano....
New AGM Hi Crank battery from Tayna also deilivered next day as per their usual service

| Yes indeed they are, have you picked up the dodgy alignment of the tiles on the right, real poor fitting and wide grout lines, but then I didn't lay these meself, some dodgy amateur I'm afraid.... |

Hello Keith,
Goldentyre in Korea make the right size tyres but the importers bump up the prices (£220 for the rear!). Unfortunately, there's not much alternative for the correct rear tyre as the swingarm gets in the way with alternative sizes,
