Go For It Oily! I took early retirement about five years ago and haven't looked back. It's amazing how a job gets in the way of working on bikes, lazing in the sunshine etc. You've only got one life to live so don't spend too much as a wage slave!
Cheers, MikeJ |

Buy a type of bike, do them up a bit and sell them through. Something like Honda cbr6's that lots of people buy and sell. That way you'll be under the radar for tax and hours worked if you're retired. _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

As long as shore leave in the IOW is NOT compulsary......I was asked to never come back |
Spent 4 months working on the Isle of Sh**te
I wish they aksed me never to come back, but wasn't necessary as I'd already made the decision.
Didn't realise that the island shuts up shop over the Winter, even the fish and chip shops are permanently closed. Stayed in a B&B ran like Fawlty towers.
they had Pineapple juice on the Menu, so I asked for it, it was "out of stock" so I ordered orange. Next morning they had pineapple so I had that, next morning I asked for Orange....The Reply? "I've just bought Pineapple just for you, so you'll be having that for the rest of the week" Cheers thanks I thought....Said he only did breakfast starting at 9am, but I started work at 8, so asked if I could have it at 7.30....Hhmph...."I suppose so, but just for you..." Came down at 7.30 to find 10 other co-workers waiting patiently at 7.30, each looking as sheepish as each other as myself . I finished work at 6pm,,,,so what time did he do tea at?? Yup 5-6pm with restaurant closed after that... Lived on takeaway sandwiches from the petrol station for 4 months.... |

Fawlty Towers... now there's a clasic. They still show it on tv here. One of the all time greats in Brittish comedy. Basil!!!

Oily,
If you have to fill in a job application form, you have to fill in like this.
It actually seems to work….Good luck..
This is an actual job application that a 75 year old senior citizen
submitted to Wal-Mart in Arkansas.
They hired him because he was so funny…..
NAME: Kenneth Way (Grumpy Bastard)
SEX: Not lately, but I am looking for the right woman (or at least one who will
cooperate)
DESIRED POSITION: Company’s President or Vice President. But seriously,
whatever’s available. If I was in a position to be picky, I wouldn’t be applying
here in the first place ?
DESIRED SALARY: $185,000 a year plus stock options and a Michael Ovitz style
severance package. If that’s not possible, make an offer and we can haggle.
EDUCATION: Yes.
LAST POSITION HELD: Target for middle management hostility.
PREVIOUS SALARY: A lot less than I’m worth.
MOST NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENT: My incredible collection of stolen pens and post-it
notes.
REASON FOR LEAVING: It sucked.
HOURS AVAILABLE TO WORK: Any.
PREFERRED HOURS: 1:30-3:30 p.m . Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
DO YOU HAVE ANY SPECIAL SKILLS?: Yes, but they’re better suited to a more
intimate environment.
MAY WE CONTACT YOUR CURRENT EMPLOYER?: If I had one, would I be here?
DO YOU HAVE ANY PHYSICAL CONDITIONS THAT WOULD PROHIBIT YOU FROM LIFTING UP TO
50 lbs.?: Of what?
DO YOU HAVE A CAR?: I think the more appropriate question here would be “Do you
have a car that runs?”
HAVE YOU RECEIVED ANY SPECIAL AWARDS OR RECOGNITION?: I may already be a winner
of the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes, so they tell me.
DO YOU SMOKE?: On the job – no!
On my breaks – yes!
WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE DOING IN FIVE YEARS?: Living in the Bahamas with a
fabulously wealthy dumb sexy blonde supermodel who thinks I’m the greatest thing
since sliced bread.
Actually, I’d like to be doing that now
NEAREST RELATIVE.7 miles
DO YOU CERTIFY THAT THE ABOVE IS TRUE AND COMPLETE TO THE BEST OF YOUR
KNOWLEDGE?: Oh yes, absolutely.
