you're right, Honda swinging arms are hard to find but I've obtained a Z900 swinging arm which I've checked out and will fit with some finagling. It'll be about 3/4" longe ...

replica 400 Bimota tanks, seats and swinging arms can be bought from Motocicliveloce or Officine8 in Italy, so it's possible to build a modern one,
